Since 1877, Madison County Physicians have been organized to serve their community, to be an advocate for the physician patient relationship; and to preserve the highest standards of professional, educational, and moral conduct.
The Medical Society works on behalf of its members in managed care, legislative issues, and employer interactions that affect physicians and their practices. The Society is the liaison between the medical community, the lay community, the Medical Association of the State of Alabama (MASA), and the American Medical Association (AMA). MASA bills and collects yearly dues for the Society. |

The Madison County Medical Society (MCMS) and the Medical Association of the State of Alabama (MASA) work together to support, connect, and advocate for physicians at both the local and state levels.
Since 1877, MCMS has been bringing physicians together throughout Madison County, fostering professional relationships, providing educational and networking opportunities, and promoting physician well-being through initiatives like the Live Well Foundation. At the state level, MASA serves as a powerful voice for Alabama physicians, advocating for policies that protect the practice of medicine, providing valuable professional resources, and representing physicians' interests in legislative and regulatory matters.
Together, MCMS and MASA give physicians a stronger voice, a broader professional network, and the resources and support they need to thrive—because stronger physicians build healthier communities.
